Webinar: Understanding the Omnibus Simplification Package.

In February, the European Commission unveiled its first Omnibus Simplification Package, proposing targeted changes to streamline several flagship EU sustainability policies, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the EU Taxonomy.

The webinar will be in english.

Join us This webinar will explore the key proposed changes, assess their potential impact on businesses, and discuss what they may mean for the future of supply chain and sustainability requirements in the EU.

Key Topics:

Political Context: We will start with a brief overview of the European Commission’s political objectives behind the Omnibus proposal. Positioned as part of the EU’s broader effort to cut red tape and simplify the regulatory landscape, the package is one of several initiatives aimed at eliminating overlapping, unnecessary, or disproportionate requirements.

Changes to the CSRD: The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires companies to disclose detailed information on their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts, risks, and performance. During the webinar, we will review the changes that the Omnibus proposals brings to the CSRD, to streamline and clarify reporting obligations.

Changes to the CSDDD: The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) introduces binding obligations for large EU and non-EU companies to address adverse human rights and environmental impacts across their operations and supply chains. We will examine how the Omnibus proposes to amend the scope and practical application of the CSDDD.

Taxonomy Update: The EU Taxonomy serves as the EU’s official classification system for environmentally sustainable economic activities. The webinar will be an opportunity to understand Omnibus’ efforts to simplify how businesses apply and report under the Taxonomy framework.
